This app solves the disconnect between traditional resumes and the real people behind them. The development of an online personal brand is being created by social media users both consciously and unconsciously and in most cases is globally accessible. The research shows that employers are already accessing this information to better understand the applicant’s personality. The development of the Bout Me application embraces this need to know more quickly and funnels the information into one location. This allows a user to gain a quick snapshot of an individual’s or company’s personality or culture that could replace the traditional resume altogether.

Now you’re ready to connect with employers or employees. This is where the magic happens. Bout Me empowers humans to see humans as more than just their abilities and skillsets. Now you’ll be able to assess the personality or culture of your future job or employee.

The profile page is the heart of the application. It highlights a photo of the individual or an image of the company’s logo. The information to the right of the photo is basic info to understand what this person does, where they do it, how long they have done it, and what education they have received. Just below the basic information is a color bar that captures the personal color profile of the individual. This color bar is generated through a sampling of the selected photos on the profile page.

The majority of the page is populated with 8 photos selected from the user’s most recent social media post or manually selected by the user. Below the photos are the social media icons that can link directly to the user’s social media sites if permission is granted. The app’s main navigation exists in the solid frames at the top and bottom of the main screen. More information about the individual or company can be reveal by simply tapping the photo collage section of the profile. This action flips the photos over showcasing a more traditional approach to the resume.

If the profile is the heart, then the refresh is the lifeblood of Bout Me. The refresh function gives the ability for any user to refresh the profile page of a person or a company. The idea is that your Bout Me is a living document that evolves just like the users themselves. 

During the job search, the user will be able to sort the results by
either what most closely matches the search criteria, location, or salary amount. By tapping on the job image the user will be directed to the specific job description. Once inside a job post, the user can apply immediately by simply taping the Bout Me logo at the bottom. This will place them on the company’s Job Board for review by the hiring party.

The application centers around professional connections. So finding people that fit your companies culture and have the skills to perform is paramount. In a quick glance the personality and professional attributes of the applicant tells the story every employer needs to know. Bout Me focuses on providing a more human and holistic approach to recruitment while saving hours and cost by getting to the right interview in less time.

The application plays on the fact that many users are already very comfortable with social media platforms. It is designed to replace the resume but not job placement companies. The app generates a holistic snapshot of the applicant’s personality or a company’s culture. The experience is designed to be quick, easy, honest, real, effective, and informative.
